On 19 April director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research
(JINR) Vladimir Kadyshevsky (right) received Germany's
distinguished Verdienstkreuz award from Ambassador of the
Federal Republic of Germany to the Russian Federation
Ernst-Jorg von Studnitz. The award was in recognition
of Kadyshevsky's meritorious contribution to the successful and
dynamic development of the co-operation between German
physicists and their JINR colleagues. During the past 10 years,
new research projects involving scientists from DESY
(Hamburg), GSI (Darmstadt) and the Jülich Research Centre
have been successfully realized, along with the joint research
programmes involving physicists from the former East Germany,
and with significant scientific results.
