The energy spectrum of charged
cosmic rays around the "knee" (talk by
K-H Kampert) including, energy spectra
for different mass groups, as presented by
the KASCADE collaboration. The data
suggest that, for different primaries, the
energy of the "knee" depends on the
"rigidities" of the particles as they traverse
high magnetic fields. This may be
interpreted as indirect evidence for models
that describe the acceleration of the
primary cosmic-ray particles as fully
ionized nuclei in turbulent magnetic fields
(in supernova remnants, for example).
